UMVA has learned that a shocking threat has been made by a high-ranking Iranian official, calling for the assassination of former US President Donald Trump.
Mahmoud Nabavian, deputy chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, made the incendiary comments on social media, sparking widespread concern and condemnation. He also threatened Arab leaders for their perceived role in opposing the Iranian regime, vowing to "kill the despots and have their palaces destroyed."
According to information obtained by UMVA, Nabavian went further, announcing that a "significant reward" would be offered to anyone who kills Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This threat comes in response to what he claimed were renewed threats against Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
This is not the first time Iranian officials have made assassination threats against Trump. In August 2024, a Pakistani national with ties to Iran was charged with murder-for-hire in a foiled attempt on Trump's life. The plot, which was thwarted by law enforcement, targeted Trump and other current and former US government officials.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the Iranian plot involved a complex scheme, with the suspect, Asif Merchant, orchestrating a plan to assassinate a politician or US government officials on American soil. He had traveled to the US from Pakistan, after spending time in Iran, and had contacted a person he believed could assist him with the scheme.
The plot included various criminal activities, such as stealing documents from a target's residence, organizing protests, and ultimately assassinating a political figure or government official. Fortunately, law enforcement intervened, and Merchant was arrested before he could carry out the plan.
In a chilling recall, the Trump campaign was made aware of an Iranian assassination plot against Trump before a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in 2024. Although Trump was shot and nearly assassinated by Thomas Crooks, authorities confirmed that Crooks had no connection to Iran.
The situation escalated further in 2022, when former Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei released a video depicting the assassination of President Donald Trump. Khamenei was later killed in a launch of the Iran War, along with dozens of top Iranian officials.
