TEXAS MAYORAL RACE: 106 FELONIES CAN'T STOP THIS VOTER FRAUDSTER!

TEXAS MAYORAL RACE: 106 FELONIES CAN'T STOP THIS VOTER FRAUDSTER!

A shadow hangs over the upcoming mayoral election in Carrollton, Texas. Zul Mirza Mohamed, a man convicted of a sweeping voter fraud scheme, is once again seeking the city’s highest office.

The story began in October 2020, during a fiercely contested mayoral race. Mohamed, then a Democratic candidate, was arrested and charged with an astonishing 109 felony counts – a brazen attempt to manipulate the election through forged mail-in ballots.

Mohamed didn’t simply request ballots; he fabricated an entire network of deceit. He forged absentee ballot request applications, targeting unsuspecting residents of Carrollton. These ballots were then directed to a fictitious nursing home, revealed to be nothing more than a rented P.O. Box in Lewisville.

The depth of his deception was staggering. He employed a fake Texas driver’s license and a fraudulent University of North Texas student ID to carry out his scheme. A search of his home uncovered a treasure trove of falsified documents: a fake insurance ID, a counterfeit notary stamp, and a box overflowing with ballot applications from Dallas and Denton Counties.

Initially facing 25 second-degree felony charges for unlawful possession of ballots and 84 third-degree felony counts for fraudulent use of mail ballot applications, the charges were later reduced to 106. The scale of the alleged fraud was undeniable.

In December 2024, Mohamed pleaded guilty to those 106 felony charges – 25 related to improper ballot handling and 81 for fraudulent application use. A Denton County jury responded with a four-year prison sentence and ten years of probation.

However, the story didn’t end there. Mohamed appealed his conviction and, after serving only one month, was released on bond. A legal loophole now allows him to run for mayor again.

Texas law dictates that a conviction isn’t considered “final” until all appeals are exhausted. This technicality has opened the door for Mohamed to appear on the ballot for the May 2, 2026 election, challenging incumbent Mayor Steve Babick.

The case was originally built with the assistance of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Election Fraud Unit, highlighting the seriousness with which authorities viewed the attempted manipulation. It’s a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities within the mail-in ballot system, a system often defended as “safe and secure.”

The irony is palpable. While law-abiding citizens are sometimes accused of racism for supporting voter ID laws, and concerns about mail-in fraud are dismissed as conspiracy theories, a convicted felon with over one hundred felony convictions is legally permitted to seek public office.

Mohamed’s return to the political arena raises profound questions about justice, accountability, and the integrity of the electoral process. The citizens of Carrollton now face a difficult choice, one that will test their faith in the system itself.
