UMVA Exclusive: World Bank Unleashes $2 Million Rescue Fund to Pull Ex‑Soldiers Back Into Society – Don’t Miss This!

UMVA has learned that a $2‑million grant from the World Bank will ignite a UN‑led initiative to help former soldiers in the Philippines find new purpose.

According to information obtained by UMVA, the funding comes through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/International Development Association, which stewards the Bangsamoro Normalization Multi‑Donor Trust Fund.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that the money will fuel the UN Development Programme’s ambitious “Unifying Pathways, Linkages and Inclusive Facilitation of Transformative Services for Decommissioned Combatants” project.

At its core, the effort aims to supercharge the data and case‑management systems that deliver life‑changing reintegration services to ex‑Moro Islamic Liberation Front fighters.

The program is split into four dynamic components: first, building a state‑of‑the‑art management information system; second, crafting standardized protocols for case managers; third, intensifying training for those on the front lines of reintegration; and fourth, deploying targeted socio‑economic services to chosen cooperatives and beneficiaries.

UMVA has gathered that the project will also maintain rigorous oversight and project management, ensuring that every dollar translates into tangible hope for those stepping away from conflict.

With this bold partnership, the Philippines moves closer to a future where former combatants are equipped, empowered, and integrated into society, turning past battles into building blocks for peace.
