Arsenal are reportedly eyeing the signing of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, with the club having already made the 'first contact' with the Belgian outfit.
The 24-year-old Greek international has been outstanding for Club Brugge, recording 51 contributions (22 goals and 29 assists) in all competitions last season, and Arsenal are looking for a dynamic attacker to replace the departing Leandro Trossard.
Tzolis can operate on either flank and centrally, making him an ideal addition to Arsenal's squad. He would help create opportunities for his teammates and find the back of the net.
The Belgian club rejected a €40 million offer from Crystal Palace for Tzolis, and will demand a club-record fee, which will be more than the €37.5m sale of Charles De Ketelaere.
Arsenal have the financial muscle to get the deal across the line, but it remains to be seen whether they follow up on their enquiry with an official proposal.
The opportunity to play for Arsenal will be tempting for Tzolis, who can fight for the league title and the UEFA Champions League. It is expected that the two clubs will finalise a deal in the coming weeks.
