Tiger Woods Just SHOCKED the Political World With a MASSIVE Donation!

Golfing legend Phil Mickelson, a three-time Masters champion, has unexpectedly entered the California political arena with a significant financial contribution. The donation went to Steve Hilton, a Republican candidate aiming to break a two-decade losing streak for his party in the race for governor.

This foray into political giving is unusual for Mickelson, whose past federal contributions are sparse. Records show only one other notable donation – a $700 gift to a former Arizona congressman back in 1994. He’s also shown no prior pattern of supporting California candidates, according to state finance records.

What drew Mickelson to Hilton’s campaign? Hilton, a former businessman, author, and television personality, captured the golfer’s attention with promises to dismantle California’s climate energy mandates. Mickelson publicly voiced his support on social media, stating Hilton could “save California.”

Hilton’s campaign is gaining momentum, fueled by $6.2 million in contributions. This total surpasses the fundraising efforts of many prominent Democrats vying to replace the outgoing governor. He now trails only two Democratic candidates in overall funding.

Hilton expressed gratitude for Mickelson’s support, framing it as evidence of a growing movement for change. He emphasized a shared vision for restoring California to its former glory, believing strong leadership is the key.

The financial boost from Mickelson exceeds the fundraising totals of established Democratic figures like former U.S. Representatives Katie Porter and Eric Swalwell. This underscores Hilton’s surprising strength in a state traditionally dominated by the Democratic party.

Hilton’s core message centers on ending what he calls California’s “one-party rule.” He argues the state has lost its way, and his campaign offers a chance to revive its legacy of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

In a campaign launch video, Hilton passionately described California as the embodiment of the American dream. He believes reclaiming that dream requires a fundamental shift in leadership and a rejection of the status quo.

California voters will head to the polls on June 2 for the primary election. The leading candidates will then advance to a general election in November, setting the stage for a potentially historic shift in the state’s political landscape. Early voting begins in May.
