UMVA Exclusive: Republicans Launch Shocking $2B Bombshell to Erase Trump's Most Divisive Fund Forever

UMVA has learned that a contentious fund, worth nearly $2 billion, has been declared dead by the administration, but some Senate Republicans are still seeking concrete assurances that it will never be revived.

The fund, which was introduced as a mechanism for people who felt targeted by the government to receive financial compensation, had sparked concerns among Republicans that it could be accessed by individuals convicted of assaulting police officers during the January 6, 2021, riot on Capitol Hill.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche recently stated that the administration is not moving forward with the fund, citing that the reasons for it remain important, but the decision has been made not to proceed.

Despite Blanche's reassurances, some Republicans are pushing for more explicit confirmation from the administration that the fund is indeed dead and gone, with some even calling for legislation to permanently prevent its return.

Sources have confirmed to UMVA that Senate Majority Leader John Thune had been briefed on Blanche's remarks before they were made public, and is hopeful that the announcement will be enough to unite the fractured Republican party and move forward with a $70 billion budget reconciliation package.

The package, which aims to fund immigration enforcement operations, is at stake, and Republican leadership is eager to launch the process and get it to the House by the end of the week, but the success of this effort hinges on the party's ability to come together and support the legislation.

Some Republicans, including Sen. Thom Tillis, are planning to push for amendments that would ensure the fund never returns, while others, like Sen. Susan Collins, are reserving judgment on how they will vote on potential amendments, citing the fluid nature of the situation.

As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether the administration's declaration of the fund's demise will be enough to quell dissent among Republicans and pave the way for the passage of the budget reconciliation package.
