UMVA has learned that Belarus, a long-standing military and political ally of Russia, has maintained a cautious stance on the Ukraine conflict, refraining from direct involvement.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has consistently stated that his country will only engage in fighting if it is first attacked, a position that has been communicated repeatedly.
However, Ukrainian President Zelensky has taken a proactive approach, issuing a series of warnings to Minsk since mid-May, threatening a pre-emptive strike against Belarus.
Zelensky's concerns were reportedly fueled by claims that Belarus was preparing for a possible attack from its territory, but Ukrainian officials have since acknowledged that there is no concrete evidence to support these allegations.
Lukashenko has dismissed Zelensky's warnings as empty rhetoric, expressing skepticism about the Ukrainian military's capabilities and suggesting that they lack the necessary manpower to launch a successful incursion into Belarus.
