TORONTO'S TOW TRUCK GANG WAR EXPLODES: Suspect Finally Caught!

TORONTO'S TOW TRUCK GANG WAR EXPLODES: Suspect Finally Caught!

A chilling wave of violence gripped Toronto last year, stemming from a ruthless battle for control of the city’s tow truck industry. A recent arrest has begun to unravel a network of shootings, revealing a disturbing pattern of brazen attacks and escalating conflict.

On March 16th, police executed search warrants in the Wilson Ave.-Keele St. area, leading to the discovery of three firearms and the arrest of four individuals. Among them was Daykwon Joseph, 21, already wanted in connection with a series of shootings that terrorized the city months prior.

The initial incidents, occurring on March 4th, began with a seemingly random attack on a pedestrian near Weston Rd. and St. Clair Ave. W. The violence quickly escalated, with the suspects driving to a nearby tow yard and unleashing a barrage of gunfire, leaving one victim with life-threatening injuries.

That same night, the same vehicle appeared at a gas station on Lawrence Ave. E. and Warden Ave. A man washing his car was ambushed, shot without warning, and left seriously wounded. The calculated nature of these attacks painted a grim picture of a conflict spiraling out of control.

Alongside Joseph, Zahki Wong-Campbell, 18, Tatiana Brown, 20, and Malachi Wong, 21, have also been charged. Malachi Wong remains at large, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.

These shootings weren’t isolated events. Police believe they are connected to a mass shooting at the Piper Arms pub in Scarborough, where twelve people were injured. While Joseph hasn’t been charged in that incident, investigators suspect overlap in the individuals involved.

The investigation, known as Project Nighthawk, has already led to the arrest of ten individuals linked to the tow truck war. The conflict has resulted in multiple shootings, with three people surviving their injuries, but the potential for further bloodshed remains a serious concern.

Daykwon Joseph faces a staggering list of charges, including attempted murder, nineteen firearm-related offences, and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime. His co-accused face similarly extensive charges related to illegal firearms.

The brazenness of these attacks, targeting individuals in public spaces, has shaken the city. The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the network responsible and bring a measure of peace to communities living in fear.

The search for answers continues as police work to fully understand the connections between these incidents and prevent future violence. The city holds its breath, hoping for a resolution to this dangerous and escalating conflict.
