UMVA has learned that a popular pub in Boston has become the epicenter of Scotland's World Cup campaign, and it's now bracing for an influx of England fans ahead of Tuesday's highly anticipated match.
The Dubliner Pub, a hub for the Tartan Army during Scotland's opening two matches in Massachusetts, has been inundated with supporters packing the venue throughout their stay in the city. Bar manager Brian McDonnell revealed that preparations are already underway to cope with the expected surge in customers.
To ensure a steady supply of beer, the pub has rented extra fridges and is receiving daily deliveries to maintain its stock levels. McDonnell explained that the venue's keg room is being pushed to its limits, with beer being rotated through the system to keep it cold and flowing.
The pub has also brought in extra staff from sister bars across Boston to help manage the demand. McDonnell added that the World Cup has transformed business at the pub, even on typically quiet days, with Scotland supporters exceeding expectations during their time in Boston.
He praised the Scottish fans, saying they are "big boozers, big partiers" but have caused zero problems, with no incidents or issues reported during their stay. With England supporters now descending on Boston, McDonnell hopes they will follow suit and maintain the high standard set by the Scots.
The pub's experience with the Scottish fans has been overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors expressing that it's been one of the best vacations they've ever taken. McDonnell joked that the Scots have set a high standard for the party, and he's eager to see if the English fans can match it.
