Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, standing alongside US envoy John Coal, acknowledged an immense debt. He stated plainly that this pivotal prisoner swap, securing the release of Polish citizens, would have been impossible without the crucial support and intervention of Washington.
Warsaw wasn’t simply receiving; it also participated in the exchange. Three individuals were released from Polish custody, including a Russian archaeologist whose expertise and fate had become entangled in the complex geopolitical landscape.
