TRUMP MOURNS ENEMY, EX-JUDGE DEMANDS WE FEEL SORRY FOR HIM?!

TRUMP MOURNS ENEMY, EX-JUDGE DEMANDS WE FEEL SORRY FOR HIM?!

The death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller ignited a firestorm of controversy, fueled by a strikingly callous statement from former President Donald Trump. Trump, via his social media platform, expressed a chilling sentiment – that he was “glad” Mueller had died, claiming the former director “can no longer hurt innocent people.” The remark immediately drew widespread condemnation.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unexpectedly interjected the recent FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate into the discussion surrounding Mueller’s passing. When questioned about the appropriateness of Trump’s words, Bessent pointed to footage of the raid, describing it as potentially “illegal” and focusing on the perceived impact on Trump’s family.

Bessent recounted watching the FBI search through the former First Lady’s wardrobe, claiming he observed a look in Trump’s eyes that conveyed profound distress. He asserted that neither he nor interviewer Kristen Welker could truly grasp the extent of what Trump and his family had endured, advocating for empathy towards the former president.

Welker swiftly countered Bessent’s framing, clarifying that Mueller had no involvement in authorizing the Mar-a-Lago raid. She directly challenged Bessent, questioning whether celebrating the death of any American citizen could ever be considered appropriate, a point Bessent sidestepped by reiterating the perceived hardship Trump had faced.

The response from across the political spectrum was swift and forceful. Leading Democratic figures, including Senator Chuck Schumer and Representatives Dan Goldman and Jason Crow, publicly denounced Trump’s statement as “vile” and deeply inappropriate. Senator Cory Booker echoed the sentiment, adding to the chorus of disapproval.

Robert Mueller’s legacy extends far beyond this recent controversy. He served as FBI Director for a remarkable period, second only to J. Edgar Hoover in longevity. His dedication to public service continued even after his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease in 2021, a condition publicly disclosed by his family in 2025.

This isn’t the first time Trump’s reactions to the deaths of prominent critics have sparked outrage. In December, following the passing of Hollywood director Rob Reiner, Trump made a similarly provocative statement. He attributed Reiner’s death to “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” a phrase that drew immediate condemnation.

The aftermath of Reiner’s death took a tragic turn when his son, Nick Reiner, was arrested and charged with the murder of his parents. He pleaded not guilty in February, adding another layer of sorrow and complexity to an already fraught situation. Even within the Republican party, five lawmakers joined Democrats in criticizing Trump’s remarks regarding Reiner.
