Apple has introduced several new AI-based features for its suite of creative apps, known as Apple Creator Studio, which are geared towards professionals. The updates will be available for Pixelmator Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Logic Pro, among other apps. These new features aim to make the Apple Creator Studio more connected, capable, and intelligent. The updates include a range of tools that utilize artificial intelligence to enhance the creative process.
Final Cut Pro has received several new features, including Generate Captions, which automatically transcribes audio and places subtitles directly in the timeline. The style, font, color, and text position of the subtitles can be customized. Another feature, Edit Detection, can take rendered video, analyze it, and automatically split it back into the original clips on the timeline. Additionally, Final Cut Pro now includes Auto Mask and Magnetic Mask, which use AI to recognize and track items such as skin, hair, and clothing.
Other updates to Final Cut Pro include Match Color, which has been revised to produce more accurate and natural color matches across a wider range of footage and lighting conditions. The app also features Advanced Trimming, which allows users to fine-tune incoming and outgoing frames one at a time. Furthermore, Final Cut Pro now has a direct connection to Pixelmator Pro, enabling users to send a frame and edit it for thumbnails, social media, and other purposes.
Motion has also received updates, including native support for SVG files and the ability to scale SVGs to any size while maintaining image quality. The app now features Distribute Layers, which enables faster setup of complex animations. New timeline controls have also been added, allowing users to stagger, cascade, or reverse clips to build complex animations in seconds.
Compressor has been updated with an Immersive Metadata Viewer, which allows users to view immersive, temporal, and dynamic metadata before encoding. The app also features a 180-degree Apple Projected Media Profile for Apple Vision Pro and an Anaglyph View for Stereoscopic Video Preview. Final Cut Camera has been updated with Clean HDMI Out, which sends a pristine video signal to external monitors and recorders, as well as expanded ProRes support and a disable digital zoom option.
Pixelmator Pro has been updated with iWork integration, which allows users to select an image in a Pages, Keynote, or Numbers document and open it directly in Pixelmator Pro for editing. The app also features Generate Shapes, which simplifies the process of creating vector shapes needed for a project. These shapes are fully editable and can be saved to a dedicated collection for use later.
Logic Pro has been updated with Chord ID, which has been rebuilt to provide more accurate harmonic analysis. The app also features a new Producer Project, as well as Granular sync mode, which opens up new dimensions of sound design. A new Granular Alchemy Sound Pack has also been added, along with Beat Breaker, which features new filter and pan modes and intuitive randomization controls.
Apple has also updated its iWork suite of apps, including Pages, Keynote, and Numbers. Keynote now features new transitions and builds, while Pages on iPhone and iPad has been updated with Auto-Hyphenate and Show Invisibles. Numbers now allows users to hide or color-code individual sheets, enhancing the app's functionality and usability.
