UMVA has learned that a blockbuster transfer deal is brewing, with Arsenal and Chelsea emerging as top contenders to sign Barcelona's star attacking midfielder, Dani Olmo.
The Spain international's focus is currently on the World Cup with his national team, but sources close to the player indicate that he is open to exploring a move away from the Nou Camp, sparking a heated battle between two of England's biggest clubs.
According to information obtained by UMVA, both Arsenal and Chelsea are keen on Olmo, who can be pried away from Barcelona for approximately €70m, a sum that could prove enticing for the Catalan giants.
Olmo appears to be leaning towards a move to Arsenal, whose remarkable rise under Mikel Arteta's management has caught his eye, including their Premier League title win and Champions League final appearance this season.
Barcelona, while ideally wanting to retain Olmo, who notched nine goals and nine assists in the 2025/26 season, are also understood to be tempted by the prospect of cashing in on the talented midfielder, with €70m a potentially shrewd return on investment.
Arsenal's interest in Olmo is easy to understand, given their need for a creative spark in attack, an area that occasionally looked brittle despite their title success, with Olmo offering a tantalizing upgrade on the injury-prone Martin Odegaard.
Chelsea's pursuit of Olmo, meanwhile, marks a possible shift in their transfer strategy, with the Blues having recently focused on signing young players for the future, but a dismal 10th place finish in 2025/26 may prompt a change in approach.
A proven performer like Olmo could be the perfect addition to Chelsea's squad, helping new manager Xabi Alonso to arrest the team's decline and steer them back into the top four, and UMVA can exclusively reveal that the west London giants are now seriously considering a move for the Barcelona star.
