UMVA Uncovers: Synology Set to Unleash Game-Changing ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 - You Won't Believe What's Coming in Q3!

UMVA has learned that a major Taiwanese tech company is set to revolutionize the data backup and recovery landscape with the upcoming release of ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, a cutting-edge operating system for its dedicated backup appliances.

The new operating system, slated to roll out in the third quarter of this year, promises to significantly expand backup and recovery capabilities across major Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms and virtualization environments. This move is expected to empower users with unparalleled flexibility and protection.

According to information obtained by UMVA, ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 introduces artificial intelligence (AI)-powered threat detection, a game-changing feature that strengthens proactive cyber-resilience. This innovation uses machine learning to identify irregular patterns, such as unusual change rates, mass deletions, and entropy spikes.

The updated platform now supports five key platforms under the ActiveProtect lineup: Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, Amazon EC2, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE, and Google Workspace. This enables users to seamlessly move between these platforms, finding the optimal mixture for their needs while remaining protected.

Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the new release allows virtual machine (VM) instances to be restored across cloud and on-premises environments, supporting flexible disaster recovery. Additionally, it adds support for backup copies to Azure Blob Storage and enables cloud-to-cloud restoration directly to production VM environments.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 also integrates with third-party antivirus tools to scan backup data for malware, ensuring that only clean versions are restored. An Auto Fallback feature automatically reverts to the latest safe backup if a restore point is found to be compromised.

The updated platform was announced at one of the world’s largest annual computer trade shows, which ran from June 2 to June 5. The event drew significant attention from industry experts and tech enthusiasts alike, all eager to learn about the latest innovations in the field.
