TUBERVILLE DOUBLES DOWN: 9/11 COMPARISON SPARKS OUTRAGE!

TUBERVILLE DOUBLES DOWN: 9/11 COMPARISON SPARKS OUTRAGE!

Senator Tommy Tuberville ignited a firestorm of controversy this week defending a social media post that drew a stark and deeply unsettling comparison between New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the horrific attacks of September 11th, 2001.

The initial post, shared by the senator and originating from an account known as "End Wokeness," juxtaposed a photograph of the Twin Towers engulfed in flames with an image of Mayor Mamdani seemingly hosting a Ramadan Iftar event. The accompanying message declared, “Less than 25 years apart,” and ominously warned, “The enemy is inside the gates.”

Pressed to explain his reasoning, Tuberville asserted his comments stemmed directly from Mayor Mamdani’s public statements. He claimed the mayor’s rhetoric regarding Islam and “radical Islam” echoed sentiments he found deeply concerning, framing his post as a mere repetition of the mayor’s own words.

The senator insisted his concern wasn’t with faith itself, but with division. He spoke of a need for national unity under the Constitution and shared moral values, regardless of religious affiliation – Muslim, Catholic, or Baptist. He argued that Mayor Mamdani was actively working to fracture the country.

When questioned about the potential offense his post might cause to Muslim Americans, particularly in his own state of Alabama, Tuberville pointed to personal relationships. He mentioned recent conversations with Iranian citizens about ongoing conflicts, acknowledging their Muslim faith, but quickly pivoted to a broader condemnation.

He then made the assertion that adherence to Sharia law and reverence for the Quran inherently promote violence against Americans, a claim demonstrably false as the Quran contains no such directive. Tuberville maintained his position, stating his issue wasn’t with religious background, but with attempts to disrupt American culture.

The senator doubled down on his stance throughout the day, launching a series of additional posts targeting Islam. One post explicitly labeled “radical Islam” as the enemy of freedom-loving Americans, while another accused the liberal media of shielding “radical Islamists” and falsely claimed the Quran explicitly calls for the killing of non-Muslims.

In a particularly defiant statement, Tuberville responded to criticism by stating, “To anyone offended by me calling radical Islamic jihadists the enemy: If the shoe fits, wear it.” His original post remained prominently pinned to the top of his social media profile for over a day.

The response was swift and forceful. Mayor Mamdani, himself a Muslim, issued a scathing rebuke, questioning the priorities of Washington politicians. He pointedly asked why there wasn’t equal outrage when children go hungry compared to when he shares a meal with his constituents.

The incident has sparked a national conversation about Islamophobia, political rhetoric, and the dangerous consequences of equating an entire faith with extremism, leaving many to question the senator’s judgment and the motivations behind his inflammatory statements.
