UMVA has learned that Rylan Clark was thrust into a raw, unfiltered conversation on ITV’s The Assembly, where he faced probing questions about the collapse of his marriage.
The former X Factor star and This Morning presenter revealed that his six‑year union with Dan Neal ended in 2021 after an early infidelity came to light, a confession that ultimately shattered their bond.
During the interview, a candid panel asked, “When you told your husband you cheated on him, he divorced you. Is honesty always the best policy?” Clark’s eyes widened, but he steadied his voice to confront the sting.
“Yes, honesty is everything,” he replied, his tone tinged with vulnerability. “I can’t live with guilt or secrets—they make me sick. It’s a painful truth, but I’m grateful it surfaced.”
He went on to admit he rarely thinks of his ex, reflecting that he once believed he’d “sussed” love, only to discover he’d been navigating a hollow illusion.
“I don’t regret any of it,” Clark said, leaving the depth of his feelings to the audience’s imagination.
Later, while chatting with a makeup artist during a break, he opened further, describing the divorce as a rug pulled from beneath him, a sudden collapse that left him feeling broken in both body and spirit.
He confessed he retreated to his mother’s home, unable to face the memories that haunted his own house.
Since 2025, Clark has found a new chapter with fairground worker Kennedy Bates, signaling a fresh start after the turbulence of his past.
