Despite this growth, the company reported a 1.77% decline in attributable net income to P8.87 billion for the January-to-March period, as higher operating expenses offset modest revenue growth.
Revenue, however, showed a slight increase, rising 2.23% to P56.51 billion, with service revenue accounting for P54.91 billion and non-service contributions at P1.61 billion.
The company's shares took a hit, with PLDT falling P5, or 0.43%, to close at P1,151 each on the local bourse.
