Filinvest Land transferred a 6,000‑square‑meter parcel in Bicutan to the Department of Transportation to enable construction of the Bicutan Station, a pivotal interchange in the capital’s rail network.
The station will connect the North‑South Commuter Railway with the Metro Manila Subway, creating a continuous rail corridor extending from Clark, Pampanga to Calamba, Laguna.
Alongside the station, the developer plans a pedestrian link that includes an elevated bridge over East Service Road and a covered walkway linking the station to its adjacent 6.5‑hectare property and future developments.
Company leadership described the partnership as a strategic effort to improve transportation connectivity for emerging urban centers and nearby residential areas.
The station design incorporates a unidirectional track‑sharing system, allowing subway trains to operate on NSCR tracks and enhancing operational flexibility.
Projected ridership for the integrated facility is estimated at roughly one million passengers per day.
The broader project is expected to generate up to 350,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and subsequent operations, with the 5.8‑kilometer elevated segment covering Bicutan and Sucat stations slated for completion in 2031 and full system operation targeted for 2033.
