SHOCK: California Dems Unleash Explosive War to Force Healthcare for Illegal Immigrants Now!

The tension in California’s gubernatorial debate was electric as every Democrat on stage—just moments after lamenting the state’s skyrocketing healthcare costs—raised their hands in support of providing taxpayer-funded coverage for illegal immigrants. It was a jaw-dropping pivot that left viewers wondering: how can they fix a broken system by adding billions more to the tab?

Billionaire candidate Tom Steyer didn't blink. “We had a broken immigration system,” he fired back, “and now you want to victimize the people who are working here and making the state run.” His words landed like a thunderclap, dismissing the notion that these workers are the problem.

Former congresswoman Katie Porter faced the cost question head-on, but her answer was anything but economic. “We can’t afford to have people who are sick, who are making the rest of us sick,” she declared. Then Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, her Republican opponent, snarled, “They shouldn’t be here.” Porter froze, shooting him a look of pure bewilderment.

She recovered with a gut-punch of logic: “When anyone doesn’t have care, the rest of us are at risk when people don’t get vaccinations. They wind up in the emergency room. They cause longer lines. They push our system to the brink.” Her voice carried the weight of a system already gasping for air.

Xavier Becerra, former Biden health secretary, painted a human picture. “Immigrants, documented or not, work hard. They pay taxes. Sometimes they get injured on the job, or their children get sick.” He leaned into the microphone, almost pleading: “It would be foolish to tell a family they can’t see a pediatrician. Instead, that child gets so ill they enter the most expensive door—the ER. Why spend that money when you can do it up front?”

Not every Democrat on stage was directly challenged on the issue. San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan and former L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa stayed silent, neither endorsing nor opposing the policy as the debate raged on.

Republicans seized the moment. Steve Hilton, a former Fox News host, thundered: “The actual way we deal with health care is to stop spending $20 billion a year on free care for illegal immigrants who shouldn’t even be here.” Bianco piled on, his voice dripping with disdain: “When are we going to draw the line? It’s illegal. We’re not going to incentivize them to come here and take resources regular Californians aren’t getting.”

Before the immigration debate even erupted, the Democrats were locked in a fierce contest over who loved government-run healthcare more. Steyer said he supports single-payer “absolutely.” Becerra pushed for a “Medicare for all” program. Porter hammered Becerra, demanding he clarify whether he backs a state-run single-payer system. The room crackled with ideological fervor.

Yet the cost monster loomed over everything. Steyer admitted healthcare is “eating up our budget” and “eating up every single family.” Villaraigosa dropped a bombshell: a state-run single-payer system would cost roughly $500 billion and need federal approval. He called it “pie in the sky.” The irony was bitter—candidates dreaming of universal coverage while the state’s healthcare system screamed for a lifeline.
