The upcoming wedding bash of a high-profile celebrity couple is expected to receive taxpayer-funded security and traffic control from the NYPD.
The event, scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden, will feature performances from renowned artists Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw, with organizers touting it as "bigger than the Met Gala." The annual Metropolitan Museum of Art fundraiser generates tens of millions of dollars for the organization and also receives security assistance from the NYPD and New York City's Sanitation Department.
A photo obtained by a news outlet on Monday showed a large truck backing into a loading bay at the MSG, where workers were seen removing large items concealed by black plastic sheets.
The NYPD has not yet commented on the matter, but the venue falls within the Patrol Borough Manhattan South, whose commanding officer was reassigned last week amid an internal affairs corruption probe.
