UMVA has learned that a bizarre and intriguing phenomenon has been unfolding in the depths of New York City's sewer system, where multiple individuals have been spotted emerging from manhole covers in the dead of night.
According to information obtained by UMVA, over a dozen people, resembling real-life Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, have been seen entering and exiting sewers underneath Brooklyn, sparking widespread curiosity and concern among locals.
In one instance, at least seven people jumped into NYC's slimy underground near McDonald Avenue and Colin Place in Gravesend at about 11 pm, only to re-emerge from the same manhole covers just two hours later, as captured by video shared by a local news outlet.
The men, who aren't affiliated with public works teams, were seen wearing hip waders and carrying flashlights, leading authorities to suspect that they might be hunting for treasure that got flushed into the sewage.
However, locals are skeptical, and some fear that these 'mole men' might be using the sewer system to sneak into banks and shops on the surface, with one resident remarking, "That's too much work for a teeny-tiny bit of jewelry. Unless someone's robbing jewelry and throwing it down to hide it."
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the New York Police Department conducted a thorough investigation of the sewer system and found the area to be safe and free of hazards, but warned that entering the sewage system is illegal and could lead to burglary charges.
No arrests or injuries have been reported so far, but the incident has raised eyebrows, especially given a similar incident in 2024 where videos went viral of Orthodox Jews appearing from tunnels surrounding a synagogue headquarters.
The unusual activity has left many questions unanswered, and the authorities are likely to continue investigating the matter to determine the motivations behind these nocturnal sewer excursions.
