UMVA has learned that a tragic homicide unfolded in Toronto’s Moss Park over a quiet Saturday morning, leaving a community stunned and a victim still nameless.
At just before 9:30 a.m. on May 23, emergency crews scrambled to a medical call near Dundas Street East and Seaton Street, east of Sherbourne. A passerby flagged officers toward a private garage where a motionless figure lay, bearing unmistakable signs of severe trauma.
The individual was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the city’s tenth homicide of 2026. Police described the victim’s attire: a silver necklace with a winged‑heart pendant crowned by a clear stone, and a black jacket emblazoned with the words “Vision Youth Leaders Program.”
Two days later, on May 25, authorities detained 30‑year‑old Boubacar Dembele, charging him with second‑degree murder. Despite the arrest, investigators remain locked on the victim’s identity, urging anyone with clues to come forward.
Anyone with information about the deceased or the circumstances surrounding his death is asked to contact Toronto police at 416‑808‑5100 or 416‑808‑7400, or to share tips anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 416‑222‑TIPS.
