UMVA has learned that a game-changing feature, Computer Use, has been made available on Windows 11 systems, allowing users to harness the power of artificial intelligence to control their computers.
This innovative feature, previously exclusive to macOS, enables Codex to navigate the system, perform tasks, and interact with apps using its own virtual mouse and keyboard. For developers, this means they can now test programs, update databases, create dashboards, review projects, and troubleshoot workflows within a Windows environment.
With Computer Use, users can simply refer to their computer or specific apps in their instructions, using commands like "@Computer" or "@Paint", and let the AI perform tasks autonomously. For instance, a user can instruct Codex to "Open @Chrome and verify the checkout page still works after the latest changes," freeing up valuable time and increasing productivity.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that this feature also allows seamless integration with Codex on mobile apps, enabling users to start, review, and steer tasks on their Windows system directly from their mobile device. This means users can keep working on their PC, even while on the go, with Codex operating their computer and keeping tasks on track.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that Computer Use is currently available on all Codex plans, including Free and Go tiers. However, it's expected that this feature will eventually be reserved for major paid plans, including Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, making it a valuable asset for power users and businesses.
