BRAMPTON BLAZE: Tow Truck Arson CHAOS!

BRAMPTON BLAZE: Tow Truck Arson CHAOS!

A wave of deliberate fires ripped through Brampton overnight Tuesday, targeting tow trucks across the city in a series of coordinated attacks.

Police responded to four separate incidents within a mere span of minutes, discovering tow trucks engulfed in flames. The first occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Cassinway Road, near Airport Road and Countryside Drive, where two tow trucks and another vehicle were intentionally set ablaze.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured in the initial attack, but the perpetrator had already vanished before officers arrived. Less than twenty minutes later, another tow truck became a fiery spectacle on Legend Lane, close to McLaughlin Road and Bovaird Drive.

The relentless attacks continued, with a third tow truck deliberately ignited on Worthington Avenue, north of Bovaird Drive. Investigators are meticulously examining the sequence of events, recognizing the tight timeframe as a crucial lead.

Detectives from the 21 and 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are actively seeking information from the public. They are requesting anyone with dashcam footage, video surveillance, or any relevant details to come forward and assist the investigation.

Currently, police have no descriptions of suspects or the vehicles involved, leaving the investigation open to the possibility of multiple perpetrators. The possibility of a connection to previous tow-truck arsons in recent weeks and months is also being thoroughly explored.

This isn’t an isolated incident. Just days prior, on Saturday, a tow truck was deliberately set on fire in a residential driveway on Butterworth Road. Earlier this month, a similar suspicious fire occurred on Muskoka Street.

Investigators are carefully considering all potential motives, including the possibility of organized crime. While it’s too early to confirm, the nature of these attacks suggests a level of planning and coordination that warrants a deeper look into potential criminal networks.

The investigation remains in its early stages, and authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind these brazen acts of arson and bring those responsible to justice.

Multiple companies have reported damage to their vehicles, raising concerns about the escalating situation and its potential impact on the towing industry within the city.
