ARENAS ARE BACK: SM Prime Fuels Event EXPLOSION!

A surge in demand for spectacular live experiences is driving a major expansion for one of the Philippines’ leading venue operators. Plans are underway to unveil the SM Seaside Cebu Arena in the second quarter of 2026, answering a growing call for world-class entertainment spaces.

The appetite for large-scale events is already demonstrably strong. The SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, a cornerstone of the country’s entertainment landscape, hosted over 200 events in 2025 alone, captivating more than 1.1 million attendees.

This represents a significant 10% increase in attendance compared to the previous year, signaling a sustained and robust demand from both international and local event promoters. The numbers paint a clear picture: the Philippines is hungry for live entertainment.

Since its debut in 2012, the 15,000-seat MOA Arena has become a legendary stage, hosting over 2,400 performances. From global concert tours featuring the world’s biggest artists to thrilling major sporting competitions and prestigious international pageants, the arena has seen it all.

Recognizing the need to remain at the forefront of the industry, SM Prime is committed to continuous improvement. A recent $2.1-million investment saw the installation of a state-of-the-art center-hung LED system, dramatically enhancing both production quality and the overall viewing experience for audiences.

The forthcoming SM Seaside Cebu Arena, strategically located within the bustling SM Seaside City Cebu complex, promises to unlock a new era of entertainment access for the Visayas region. It’s anticipated to be a powerful catalyst for tourism and a significant boost to the local economy.

Beyond the flagship MOA Arena and the upcoming Cebu venue, SM Prime actively supports a diverse range of live events through a network of medium-sized and open-air venues. These spaces, including the SMDC Festival Grounds, SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, and SM Cebu Concert Grounds, collectively offer a combined capacity of approximately 110,000.

These versatile venues provide platforms for a wide spectrum of events, from intimate concerts to massive outdoor gatherings, solidifying SM Prime’s position as a key player in the Philippines’ vibrant entertainment ecosystem.
