SWALWELL'S SHAME: Skipped Votes for Beverly Hills Bliss?!

SWALWELL'S SHAME: Skipped Votes for Beverly Hills Bliss?!

While Californians grapple with real-world issues, their representative in Congress, Eric Swalwell, has been conspicuously absent from crucial votes. Instead of fulfilling his duties in Washington, he’s been a frequent guest at a lavish $23.4 million Beverly Hills mansion.

The opulent estate, owned by Las Vegas timeshare mogul Stephen Cloobeck – a major donor to Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign – boasts nearly 10,000 square feet, six bedrooms, a tennis court, and serves as a stunning backdrop for Swalwell’s campaign videos and television appearances. Records indicate at least ten visits since September.

Swalwell’s absences haven’t gone unnoticed. Congressional records reveal he missed House floor votes on at least three days coinciding with content posted from the mansion. In fact, he missed more votes in the recent session than any other active member of Congress, surpassing even the record of a late colleague.

Cloobeck’s support extends far beyond the use of his home. He’s contributed $1 million to a supporting committee, transferred resources from his own brief gubernatorial run, and previously funded a $31,000 trip for Swalwell to Nice, France. He openly refers to Swalwell as his “Little Brother” and freely admits to providing his home for campaign purposes.

These visits weren’t isolated incidents. They occurred during pivotal moments in Swalwell’s campaign, including the October government shutdown, his official campaign launch, a December campaign stop, and throughout January. The timing raises questions about priorities and dedication to his congressional responsibilities.

Adding to the intrigue is the question of Swalwell’s actual residency. He claims a rented home in Livermore, California, as his primary residence, yet neighbors on that quiet cul-de-sac report never having seen him, despite him supposedly living there since 2017.

One resident, Gita Prusty, who has lived on the street for five years, stated plainly, “I’ve never seen him.” This discrepancy is further highlighted by campaign spending records showing thousands of dollars allocated to luxury hotel rooms within his district.

Swalwell’s campaign has remained tight-lipped, refusing to provide documentation of a lease agreement or proof of monthly payments for the modest 1,350-square-foot Livermore house, which is also occupied by another family. The situation has even prompted a legal challenge to his ballot eligibility.

A rival candidate, Steve Hilton, expressed bewilderment, stating, “I honestly can’t figure out what’s going on with Eric Swalwell.” He pointed to Swalwell’s frequent absences and apparent disconnect from California as evidence of a lack of genuine commitment to either his current role or the state he seeks to lead.

The questions surrounding Swalwell’s time, residency, and reliance on a wealthy donor’s hospitality paint a troubling picture, leaving many to wonder about his true allegiance and dedication to the people he represents.
