As a student at Clemson University, Kurek became involved in sports marketing and helped launch the Sports Marketing Association. He then entered the sports business world, founding Leverage Sports Agency and working with major professional teams, venues, leagues, athletes, and sponsors.
Kurek's focus extended beyond traditional sponsorships, with an emphasis on building systems and creating sustainable momentum. He helped launch 3 Wide Life, a syndicated television show, and developed Popsy Interactive, an early sports engagement platform that connected media, technology, and fan participation years before digital engagement became standard practice.

At Kornit Digital, he became involved in strategic efforts across the Americas and global markets, identifying and addressing friction points to redesign systems and drive growth.

He served with ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, including as Co-Chairman of the Sports Advisory Board Council alongside Hall of Fame broadcaster Pat Summerall.
