A disturbing network has been exposed, revealing a calculated exploitation of the UK’s asylum system. An undercover investigation uncovered legal advisors and intermediaries systematically charging desperate migrants exorbitant fees – thousands of pounds – to fabricate claims of being gay.
The scheme preys on individuals facing deportation, offering a chillingly simple, yet deceitful, path to remain in the country. Migrants with expiring visas are being meticulously coached to invent personal histories, assemble fabricated evidence, and convincingly portray themselves as members of the LGBT community.
These advisors don’t offer guidance; they sell “packages.” These include staged photographs designed to appear authentic, meticulously crafted false letters, and even falsified medical reports intended to bolster the fabricated narratives. The price for this deception can reach up to £7,000, with assurances of a “very low” chance of rejection.
One advisor bluntly stated to an undercover reporter: “There is nobody who is real. There is only one way out in order to live here now and that is the very method everyone is adopting.” This chilling admission underscores the widespread nature of the fraud and the cynical manipulation of vulnerable individuals.
The deception extends beyond mere statements. Migrants are actively instructed to immerse themselves in LGBT events and clubs, not out of genuine interest, but to gather superficial “evidence” of a lifestyle they do not lead. They are also directed to procure letters falsely attesting to same-sex relationships.
The preparation is thorough, bordering on theatrical. Advisors promise to “fully prepare” clients for interviews, providing a “comprehensive package” and instructing them to simply recite a prepared line: “I am a gay and it is my reality.”
The scheme doesn’t stop with individual claims. The investigation revealed advisors suggesting the inclusion of family members under equally false pretenses. One advisor chillingly proposed bringing a relative to the UK and then fabricating a lesbian identity for her as well.
The extent of the fraud is openly acknowledged within LGBT asylum support groups. Attendees in east London candidly admitted that the vast majority of claims are not genuine. One man stated, “Most of the people here are not gays.” Another bluntly added, “Not even 1% are gay. Not even 0.01% are gay.”
Official data reveals a significant surge in asylum applications based on sexuality, with a disproportionate number originating from Pakistani nationals. In 2023, nearly two-thirds of these claims were initially approved, raising serious questions about the vetting process.
