MARINE MURDERED: Manhunt for Savage Attacker!

MARINE MURDERED: Manhunt for Savage Attacker!

A young Marine’s life was tragically cut short early Sunday morning during a chaotic street brawl in Wilmington, North Carolina. Lance Cpl. Daniel Montano, just 21 years old, succumbed to injuries sustained in the violent encounter, leaving his family and fellow Marines reeling from the loss.

Police responded to a flurry of reports detailing multiple fights erupting around 2 a.m. on North Front Street, a popular entertainment district near Camp Lejeune. The area, a frequent destination for Marines stationed at the sprawling base, quickly descended into a scene of confusion and bloodshed.

Disturbing video footage circulating online captures the immediate aftermath of the attack. Officers are seen deploying pepper spray as they approach Montano, who is visibly wounded, bent over, and bleeding profusely on the sidewalk. A concerned bystander rushes to his aid, attempting to support him before he tragically collapses.

Another man was also stabbed during the same incident, initially fleeing the scene before being located by officers. Quick action by law enforcement, including the application of a tourniquet, is credited with saving his life. The investigation is ongoing, seeking to unravel the events that led to this devastating outcome.

Montano’s family remembers him as a dedicated Marine and a beacon of light in their lives. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, he embodied the values of service and devotion. “He was not only dedicated to his country,” his family shared, “but also deeply loved by us—a son, a brother, and someone who brought so much light.”

The Wilmington Police Department is actively searching for a person of interest in connection with Montano’s death. The individual is described as an adult Black male, of medium build, wearing a distinctive light-colored denim jacket, pink shirt, and white sneakers with blue and red accents. A dark blue durag concealed long hair.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have been in the downtown area between midnight and 3 a.m. to come forward with any information, including photos, videos, or surveillance footage that could aid the investigation. Every detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial.

The police response itself has drawn scrutiny, prompting a defense from Wilmington Police Chief Ryan Zuidema. He emphasized the chaotic and rapidly evolving nature of the situation, explaining that officers were initially unable to distinguish between victims and potential suspects.

“They have no idea who is who,” Zuidema stated, highlighting the inherent dangers faced by officers responding to such volatile scenes. The priority was to assess the situation, secure the area, and ensure the safety of everyone involved, including providing immediate medical attention.

Adding to the night’s tragedy, a 22-year-old woman was stabbed in a separate incident nearby, sustaining life-threatening injuries. Authorities have arrested Jazya Muldrow-Green, 20, and charged her with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, further compounding the sense of shock and grief within the community.

The motive behind the initial brawl remains unknown, leaving investigators to piece together the events that unfolded on North Front Street. As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a young Marine and hopes for justice and answers in the wake of this senseless violence.
