It was supposed to be a night of drinks and flirtation at a luxury Miami condo. Instead, it became a terrifying trap—one that left a man fighting for his freedom and his valuables.
Nicole Cano, 30, sent the victim a direct message on Instagram, inviting him to her Biscayne Bay apartment for a casual evening. He arrived around 8 p.m. on April 11, expecting nothing more than conversation and cocktails.
But as the man stepped onto the balcony, the atmosphere shifted. Two other women emerged from a bedroom and joined Cano in a sudden confrontation. The trio cornered him, demanding cash.
The victim insisted he had no money. That didn’t stop them. During the scuffle, someone ripped his gold chain from his neck. He managed to keep the chain, but a $300 gold cross pendant was torn away before he could break free.
He fled the apartment, screaming for help. Police arrived after his frantic call. Weeks later, on May 1, the victim picked Cano out of a six-photo lineup.
Cano now faces charges of false imprisonment and strong-arm robbery. She pleaded not guilty and was assigned a public defender. The other two women involved remain unidentified—at least for now.
