WORLD CUP OR BUST: England Legend SELLS EVERYTHING for Football Glory!

WORLD CUP OR BUST: England Legend SELLS EVERYTHING for Football Glory!

A familiar face to football fans, Andy Milne – the England superfan who captivated the world in Qatar – is making an extraordinary sacrifice for his passion. He’s selling his house to fund an epic journey across the United States to witness this summer’s tournament.

During the 2022 World Cup, Milne became an instant icon. Images of him, proudly sporting an England shirt and clutching a replica trophy, spread like wildfire, cementing his status as a beloved figure among supporters. His resemblance to former England manager Steve McClaren only added to the charm.

This won’t be just another tournament for the 62-year-old former teacher. It will be his tenth World Cup, a testament to a lifelong devotion. England’s group stage matches – in Dallas, Boston, and New York – are the initial focus, but Milne has a far grander plan.

Despite widespread criticism of the tournament’s ticket prices, Milne has boldly secured tickets for every game, all the way to the final. This ambitious undertaking requires significant financial backing, leading to a momentous decision.

Milne has placed his second home in Northwich, Cheshire, on the market for £350,000. The sale of this property will fuel his seven-week adventure across the US, beginning on June 3rd. He describes the Qatar tournament as a long-awaited gift to himself, saved for over years.

He isn’t approaching the trip without a plan for managing costs. Milne intends to utilize his network of friends, embracing the opportunity to “couch surf” in Mexico, Dallas, and Vancouver. He’s also demonstrated foresight by purchasing international flights well in advance, recognizing their flexibility.

England’s campaign kicks off against Croatia in Dallas on June 17th, followed by a match against Ghana in Boston six days later. The team, under Thomas Tuchel, will aim to secure their place in the knockout stages before their final group game against Panama in New Jersey.

After 27 years of ownership, Milne feels the timing is right to “cash in” on his second home. This isn’t simply about attending a football tournament; it’s about pursuing a dream, fueled by unwavering passion and a willingness to make a remarkable commitment.
