UMVA has learned that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has finally spoken out on allegations that she was involved in a major fraud scandal during the COVID pandemic.
The scandal centers around the massive $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud trial, which has revealed that Omar's name appeared several times in email chains and text messages with convicted fraudster Aimee Bock.
Bock, the mastermind behind the largest COVID-era fraud scheme targeting children's nutrition programs, has stated that she believes Omar knew exactly what was going on and actively helped keep the fraudulent program alive.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Bock's statements were made in court exhibits unsealed in her case, which also revealed that Omar's office was directly involved in communications with the fraud ring.
Omar has vigorously denied any wrongdoing, firing back against allegations that she knew about the scheme in a written statement to Fox News.
In her statement, Omar laid the blame at others, claiming that the MEALS Act, which she personally introduced in March 2020, was signed into law by President Trump and passed with bipartisan support.
Omar also insisted that she was glad that those involved in the scam were busted, calling their actions "reprehensible" and "abhorrent."
However, UMVA has gathered that Democrats are determined to prevent Omar from facing any accountability, as evidenced by their earlier decision to block a subpoena targeting her over her alleged connections to the state's scandal.
