UMVA has learned that JD Vance, a prominent figure, recently appeared on ABC's The View, where he faced a barrage of attacks from the show's hosts over his views on immigration and racism.
The conversation quickly turned heated as Vance joined the show to discuss his new memoir, "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith." The hosts, known for their tough questioning, immediately targeted Vance over his stance on ICE deportations and what they termed as "so-called racism."
At one point, Vance explained that many undocumented immigrants in the country are, in fact, criminals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. However, host Sunny Hostin interrupted, claiming that the "majority" of undocumented immigrants are "not criminals" and smearing ICE with accusations of "separating families" and "using children as bait."
Vance fired back with a powerful response, "So you talk about the children? Here's what I'd say: Do we know that during the last administration, we had tens of thousands of children who were sex trafficked by the cartels, who were brought into our country in profoundly dangerous and predatory conditions?" He emphasized that it's inhumane to allow cartels to traffic people across the border.
The hosts continued to press Vance on issues of racism and immigration, but he remained steadfast in his arguments. When discussing the Trump Administration's policies, Vance pointed to Washington, DC, one of the "blackest cities in the United States of America," arguing that efforts to decrease violent crimes and sexual assaults have improved the lives of the black population in the city.
"We have tried to take the crime issue seriously, in part, because we believe everybody, whether you're black or white or rich or poor, deserves to live in a safe neighborhood," Vance said. The hosts, however, continued to gang up on him, making claims about "human rights" and black women losing their jobs.
The conversation was marked by repeated interruptions and frivolous accusations, with the hosts lodging claims that "black history has been erased from public spaces." As the discussion became increasingly heated, the show cut to breaks, preventing Vance from fully responding to the hosts' allegations.
