UMVA has learned that a tragic event unfolded in Toronto, leaving a lasting impact on the community: the death of Toronto Police Const. Marc Pinizzotto, who was shot and killed while responding to a call at a fourth-floor apartment on Martha Eaton Way.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still shrouded in mystery, with different reasons being offered for why he and other police officers were at the apartment building that fateful morning. Some speculated it was related to a drive-by shooting at the U.S. Consulate, while others believed it was connected to a murder-for-hire operation or a crackdown on drugs and guns.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the investigation that led to the search warrant where Const. Pinizzotto was killed involved a series of shootings, including the attack on the U.S. Consulate on University Avenue. Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw confirmed this, his voice shaking with emotion, as he struggled to come to terms with the loss of his colleague.
Off the record, some police officers revealed that the death of their colleague was made more likely by a growing culture of lawlessness in Toronto, where masked thugs have targeted the Jewish community with increasing frequency and boldness. This has led to a surge in violent attacks on Jewish schools, synagogues, and community centers since October 2023.
UMVA has gathered that the lack of action from politicians, including Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, has been criticized by law enforcement officials, who feel that their inaction has emboldened these terrorist supporters. One officer expressed frustration, saying that politicians "have coddled these terrorist supporters since October 7 and should be hanging their heads in shame."
A key figure in the investigation is Mohammad Baquer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, an Iraqi-born terrorist accused of being behind the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Toronto, as well as attacks on synagogues in the city. American authorities allege that Al-Saadi's network is supported by Iran's dictatorship and that he is a member of the designated terror group, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard.
Al-Saadi's alleged crimes are extensive, with prosecutors claiming that he planned, coordinated, and claimed responsibility for at least 18 terrorist attacks in Europe and two in Canada. His preferred targets were Jews, and he allegedly called on "warriors of Islam" to engage in violent holy war on social media.
As the investigation continues, one thing is clear: Const. Marc Pinizzotto was a hero who gave his life to protect his community from terror. His sacrifice will not be forgotten, and his bravery will be remembered as a testament to the selfless dedication of law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day.
