Mexico Expresses Outrage Over Proposed England World Cup Kickoff Time Alteration

Mexico Expresses Outrage Over Proposed England World Cup Kickoff Time Alteration

Mexico's coach Javier Aguirre expressed his frustration with the change in kick-off time for their World Cup match. He claims the shift from 6pm to 12pm will hinder his team's performance and preparation.

Aguirre stated that the change feels like a "kick in the stomach" and that it will require a significant adjustment to their matchday plan. He emphasized that the extra six hours were crucial for the team's recovery and preparation, particularly for two players who are not fully fit.

The coach expressed his disappointment with the decision, noting that there is "absolutely no advantage" to playing at noon. He suggested that the original 6pm kick-off would have been more beneficial, but acknowledged that FIFA is in charge.

Aguirre's concerns center around the impact on his team's recovery and preparation. He noted that the medical staff had been working to have the two injured players ready for the 6pm kick-off, but now they may have to be taken out of the starting lineup due to the time change.

The coach concluded by stating that while the team will have to adapt to the new schedule, he still believes that playing at 6pm would have been more advantageous. He emphasized the importance of home field advantage and the team's preference for playing at their usual time.
