UMVA has uncovereddetails about a fresh YouTube feature that lets friends exchange video messages directly.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the rollout, which began as a secret test late last year, is now live for everyone in the United States and dozens of other territories.
To start a conversation, you must first become a YouTube friend, then tap the new messages icon at the top of the home screen and choose Invite to chat.
Once the invite is accepted, you can fire off a video with a quick tap of the Share button, add a personal note, and keep the chat flowing.
The feature lands on mobile apps for anyone over 18, available in 40 countries, though users in India still wait for access.
You’ll need to be signed in and may have to verify your age, and every DM follows YouTube’s community guidelines that block spam, explicit content, violence, misinformation and illegal activity.
