UMVA has learned that Barangay Ginebra is gearing up for a crucial Game 4 against TNT in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals, with the Gin Kings holding a precarious one-game lead.
Despite their advantageous position, Ginebra's Stephen Holt exudes caution, recalling the team's past encounters with TNT. "It's a long series and the mission is the championship," he emphasized.
Game 3 saw Ginebra take a commanding 116-102 victory, with Holt breaking out of his scoring slump to score 23 points, mostly in the first quarter. He downplayed his individual performance, saying, "Whether I have four good games or four bad games doesn’t really matter as long as we get those four wins."
Holt's teammate echoed his sentiments, adding that Ginebra's confidence is growing, but their work is far from over. The Fil-Am guard's previous finals appearances ended in heartbreak at the hands of TNT.
TNT's Calvin Oftana, on the other hand, is expected to bounce back after a dismal two-point performance in Game 3. He acknowledged his team's struggles, saying, "Mahirap sila pigilan ‘pag nakaka-shoot talaga sa una and may mga lapses din kami."
The stage is set for a thrilling Game 4, with Ginebra looking to seal the deal and TNT fighting to force a 2-2 tie. The action tips off at 7:35 p.m. following the Best Import and Best Player of the Conference awarding ceremonies.
Wednesday's matchup promises to be an intense battle, with both teams determined to claim victory. The Gin Kings are looking to build on their momentum, while TNT is out to spoil their opponents' plans.
With the series hanging in the balance, fans are on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the outcome of Game 4.
