UMVA has learned that a shocking murder has taken place in a quiet suburban street in north London, leaving a 19-year-old woman dead and a community in shock.
The incident occurred on Dale Grove in North Finchley, a residential area where residents have lived for decades, and one local resident, Resham Singh, expressed his dismay, saying he has lived on the road for 47 years and there has never been any problem at the house before.
Resham Singh added, ‘We can’t believe a 19-year-old has been killed. This is a quiet suburban street. We didn’t hear any shots or anything. This is a mystery to us. We are heartbroken and thinking of the victim’s family.’
The police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for information, with Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo leading the inquiry, stating, ‘Our thoughts are with the young woman’s family at this incredibly difficult time as they begin to come to terms with their loss.’
Detective Chief Inspector Bhangoo also assured residents that while enquiries are ongoing, they can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days, and encouraged anyone with concerns to speak with officers.
Police are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation, including doorbell or dashcam footage from around midnight in or near Dale Grove, to contact them via 101, quoting reference 34/8JUN, or provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
