Manchester United's Amad Diallo scored a stunning goal to equalize for Ivory Coast against Norway in their World Cup Round of 32 clash. Norway had taken the lead in the first half through Antonia Nusa, assisted by Martin Odegaard.
The score remained 1-0 for Norway for almost the entirety of the game, until the 74th minute when Diallo produced a moment of magic. The 23-year-old played a quick one-two, continued his run inside the box, dribbled past a couple of players, and scored past the Norway goalkeeper.
Diallo's goal brought Ivory Coast level, but Norway pushed relentlessly for a winner. Erling Haaland was frustrated throughout, twice denied by blocks at close range and guilty of a wayward volley when well-placed.
In the end, Norway secured the win and progression to the next round. Oscar Bobb played a lovely ball down the right channel for Patrick Berg, who squared it perfectly for Haaland, and the Manchester City striker found the net.
Ivory Coast's hopes of a comeback were further threatened when goalkeeper Nyland made a stunning stoppage-time save, tipping over a swinging free-kick from Amad Diallo that was heading for the corner.
Norway's win sees them return to the World Cup knockout stages for the first time in 28 years, where they will face Brazil in the Round of 16. Ivory Coast, making their knockout debut, exits the tournament with their heads held high.
