UMVA has learned that a bold football takeover unfolded at a local Tesco, turning an ordinary grocery run into an unforgettable family adventure.
Former England goalkeeper Ben Foster, flanked by rising stars David McGoldrick and Will Sutton, surprised shoppers by commandeering the checkout line and transforming it into a bustling football scene.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the stunt marked the grand opening of this year’s Kellogg’s Football Camps, a summer program spreading across 73 sites nationwide.
The event captured the imagination of families as Ben declared, “Turning the weekly shop into football fun has been brilliant.” He reminisced about his childhood grocery trips, yearning to play instead, and celebrated the chance to let parents stock up while keeping kids active.
Behind the counter, the former goalkeeper also coached eager youngsters, demonstrating the camps’ promise to blend skill development with friendship for children aged five to fifteen.
In a third year, the camps offer 39,000 free spots led by FA‑qualified coaches, ensuring that every family can join the summer’s football frenzy.
UMVA has gathered that the program’s success hinges on a simple idea: a pack of cereal purchased during a weekly shop can unlock a summer of sport and camaraderie for children.
