Mikel Arteta is looking to reshape Arsenal's attack after Leandro Trossard's departure, seeking more pace, unpredictability, and goals from the left side as the Gunners prepare to defend their Premier League title and challenge in Europe.
Arsenal were reportedly targeting Morgan Rogers, a versatile and physically strong wide forward with proven Premier League quality. However, Aston Villa's high valuation has forced the club to consider other possibilities, as Rogers' negotiation could delay the team's wider plans.
As an alternative, Arsenal are turning their attention to Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, a France international who can play from either flank and would give Arteta a more natural wide option capable of stretching defences with his speed and direct running.
The Frenchman has been crucial for PSG in their two Champions League wins in the last two seasons, and his signing could provide a different threat to an attack that can occasionally become too predictable. Barcola's explosive pace would be a valuable asset to Arsenal's squad.
However, PSG do not currently consider Barcola available, and his signing may not be straightforward. The club's stance on his transfer could change depending on further attacking arrivals, and Liverpool are also monitoring his situation.
Arsenal may find Barcola a more suitable option than Rogers, who is more Premier League-proven but comes with a British-record fee of around £130m. Paying such a high price for Rogers would be a significant burden on the team's transfer budget.
Arsenal should explore Barcola seriously, but only at a sensible price. The club must avoid getting caught up in excessive valuations, as this would defeat the purpose of reshaping their attack and signing a new player.
