ARSENAL BOMBSHELL: Star EXPLODES – Club in Crisis?

ARSENAL BOMBSHELL: Star EXPLODES – Club in Crisis?

Martin Odegaard is battling a rising tide of frustration as injuries continue to sideline the Arsenal captain. He’s now missed eight consecutive matches, a significant blow to both his personal form and the Gunners’ ambitions.

The Norwegian international has endured a turbulent season, plagued by recurring issues with his shoulder and knee. A recent setback during a match against Brentford nearly six weeks ago has proven particularly difficult to overcome.

Despite a brief appearance as a substitute against Tottenham, Odegaard hasn’t featured since, casting a shadow over hopes for a swift return. A potential appearance in the recent Carabao Cup final against Manchester City ultimately didn’t materialize, adding to the disappointment.

Norway’s manager, Stale Solbakken, openly acknowledged Odegaard’s distress, describing him as “very frustrated and grumpy.” The captain has been absent from international duty since a dominant victory over Moldova, a clear indication of the impact this injury is having.

In a strategic move to prioritize his recovery, Odegaard has been granted permission to remain with Arsenal during the international break. The aim is to have him fully fit and available for the FA Cup clash against Southampton on April 4th.

Solbakken believes a return to the squad for that match is “within reach,” emphasizing the importance of focused training over international travel. He even extended an open invitation for Odegaard to visit the national team if he desires, but stressed the priority is rehabilitation.

Odegaard isn’t the only Arsenal player facing a period of recovery. Leandro Trossard has also opted out of international duty, focusing on his hip injury rehabilitation in London.

Further compounding the situation, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Jurrien Timber, and Eberechi Eze have all withdrawn from their respective national teams. They will instead dedicate the next two weeks to preparing for the resumption of domestic and European competitions.
