Tom Hardy's Future on MobLand Series 3 Sparks On-Set Tension

Tom Hardy's Future on MobLand Series 3 Sparks On-Set Tension

The fate of hit thriller MobLand has been shrouded in uncertainty for weeks, with speculation surrounding Tom Hardy's future on the show. However, sources have now revealed that the actor will reportedly return for a possible third series, putting an end to rumors of his departure.

The 48-year-old actor, who plays street-savvy fixer Harry Da Souza, was at the center of recent rumors, with reports suggesting he had been axed from the show due to script disagreements with showrunner Jez Butterworth and David Glasser. However, it appears that Hardy and the production team have put their differences aside, with a plan in place to keep him on board for the next season.

Despite whispers that the production team was scouting A-listers to replace him, it seems that Hardy's return will be a welcome addition to the show. His on-screen presence has been a fundamental part of MobLand's success, with the series racking up 26 million viewers and cementing its place as the second-most-watched original series on the platform.

Co-star Dame Helen Mirren has been a vocal supporter of Hardy, praising him as a "very special person" and expressing her love for working with him. In a recent interview, she stated that she would work with him again "in a heartbeat," emphasizing the genuine and heartfelt support she has for the actor.

According to sources, the issues between Hardy and Butterworth stemmed from the former's request for scripts in advance and the latter's occasional practice of delivering them on the same day. However, it seems that the two have put their differences aside, with executive producer Guy Ritchie present at talks to help patch things up.

Hardy's return will undoubtedly save the production team a headache of re-creating the series two finale, which heavily involves his character. The insider stated that his re-addition will require alterations to the end of the second season, which could cost millions in extra time spent developing, filming, and editing.
