UMVA has learned that a groundbreaking partnership between Apple and Google will revolutionize the tech giant's artificial intelligence capabilities, with Google's Gemini technology set to power the next generation of Apple Foundation Models.
This multi-year collaboration will enable Apple to develop more advanced AI features, including a more personalized Siri, which is expected to be unveiled during the upcoming WWDC keynote. The new Siri will be capable of handling more complex requests, thanks to Google's cutting-edge cloud technology.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Apple plans to run as much of the new Siri as possible on-device, but more advanced requests will be processed on Google's servers, which are equipped with Nvidia's powerful Blackwell B200 data center chips.
These servers will utilize Nvidia's "confidential computing" feature, which encrypts data as it's being processed, ensuring the protection of user data. However, details about how this technology will integrate with Apple's Private Cloud Compute system, announced at WWDC in 2024, remain unclear.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Apple's decision to use Google's cloud technology comes after testing the new model on Apple's own server hardware, which proved to be too slow. The tech giant is now set to unveil the all-new Siri on June 8, during the WWDC keynote, marking a significant milestone in the company's AI journey.
