APPLE'S DARK SECRET: AI PORN APPS SLIPPING THROUGH THE CRACKS!

APPLE'S DARK SECRET: AI PORN APPS SLIPPING THROUGH THE CRACKS!

A disturbing undercurrent flows beneath the polished surface of app stores. A recent investigation reveals a hidden marketplace where technology is weaponized to exploit and objectify, transforming ordinary images into deeply harmful and non-consensual content.

Researchers discovered a shocking number of applications available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store capable of stripping digital clothing from photographs, inserting individuals into explicit videos, or fabricating sexually suggestive interactions with AI chatbots. These apps thrive despite explicit policies prohibiting such content.

The investigation utilized search terms like “nudify,” “undress,” and “AI NSFW,” uncovering that roughly 40% of the resulting apps could render women nude or nearly so. Even more unsettling, the App Store’s own autocomplete function actively suggested related search terms, guiding users toward these harmful tools.

App Store deepnude search results

Initially, Apple remained silent regarding these findings. However, following the report’s release, the company removed 15 offending applications. Despite this action, searches for terms like “deepnude” continue to yield results, leading users to apps promising body and outfit transformations.

Among the apps surfaced by the “deepnude” search was Grok, the controversial AI chatbot developed by X. Apple reportedly issued a private warning to X, threatening to remove Grok due to its capacity to generate deepfake nude images. It remains unclear if the apps previously removed received similar warnings.

The problem extends beyond direct app listings. The investigation also revealed that the App Store itself displayed advertisements for “nudify” apps, a blatant violation of Apple’s stated advertising policies which explicitly prohibit adult-oriented or graphic content.

This discovery arrives on the heels of other alarming reports of malicious activity within the App Store. Recent investigations exposed fraudulent apps disguised as legitimate services, including one that stole Bitcoin accounts and another that secretly harvested user data.

These incidents paint a troubling picture of vulnerabilities within the app ecosystem, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of current safeguards and the responsibility of major tech companies to protect their users from exploitation and harm.
