The incident unfolded in a Muskegon Heights parking lot while officers were investigating a vehicle she’d been in. They seemingly didn’t notice the incredible maneuver happening right beside them – a testament to the speed and unexpectedness of her actions.
Witness footage reveals the woman contorting her body, pushing her torso through a partially open window. She then meticulously lowered herself to the ground, one leg at a time, before sprinting away, still restrained by handcuffs.
Authorities identified the escapee as 38-year-old Kendra Aney. She was already wanted on an outstanding parole violation warrant, adding another layer to the unfolding drama.
Aney’s initial arrest occurred after police discovered her as a passenger in a vehicle parked at an abandoned business. A fingerprint scan confirmed her identity and revealed her criminal history, leading to her detainment.
The escape itself was remarkably swift. While officers searched the suspect’s vehicle, Aney exploited a small opening in the cruiser’s window, squeezing through and disappearing on foot.
