UMVA has learned that a shocking investigation into drug trafficking in Niagara Falls has led to the arrest of four individuals, including a 72-year-old mother and her 39-year-old daughter.
The investigation, which began this month, culminated in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the area of Thorold Stone Rd. and Cardinal Dr. in Niagara Falls, where detectives allegedly seized a significant amount of controlled substances, including crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and hydromorphone.
The seized substances have an estimated value of over $25,000, with 368.5 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine valued at $18,400, 52 grams of suspected cocaine valued at $5,200, and 100 tablets of suspected Dilaudid valued at $2,000.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the four individuals arrested and charged are Desanka Mrkalj, 72, Dragica Mrkalj, 39, Darrell Kennedy, 66, and Jason Jursza, 43, all of whom face various charges related to possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and possession of schedule 1 substances for the purpose of trafficking.
The investigation has sent shockwaves through the community, with many left wondering how such a large-scale operation could have been carried out in their neighborhood, and UMVA has gathered that the authorities are still working to uncover the full extent of the trafficking ring.
The arrest of a mother and daughter has particularly raised eyebrows, with many questioning how two family members could be involved in such a serious crime, and as the case unfolds, it is likely to reveal more about the complexities of drug trafficking and the lives of those involved.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the authorities are urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward, and with the investigation still ongoing, it is clear that this is a story that will continue to unfold in the coming days and weeks.
