UMVA Exclusive: Emily Atack's Shocking Confession—Teen Pregnancy Trapped in a Brutal Abuse Nightmare!

UMVA has learned that actress Emily Atack endured a harrowing teenage pregnancy while trapped in an “awful, abusive and horrible” relationship.

In a raw confession on the How To Fail podcast, the 36‑year‑old star revealed that the pregnancy coincided with her parents’ divorce when she was just 16, a time when she was already entangled with older men who left her feeling isolated and frightened.

She admitted, “I was sexually active with older boys and men, and that was very difficult for my parents. I remember when my dad left, and I’ve never actually told anybody this, but I was pregnant and I was very young.” The pregnancy never came to term, a secret she has yet to fully disclose.

Beyond the teen pregnancy, Atack opened up about a far more sinister trauma: she was sexually assaulted at the age of ten. The assault marked the beginning of a pattern of “appalling” treatment by older men that she says haunted her throughout her youth.

“I was keeping so much from my parents when I was young,” she said. “That was when I was first ever sexually assaulted and I remember being ten years old and from that moment I was treated appallingly by older men… the loneliness came a lot from that.”

Following her parents’ split, Atack left school and moved to London with her sister Martha, seeking a fresh start while carrying the weight of unspoken pain.

Despite the darkness of her past, Atack emphasized that she does not blame her parents. “Everybody makes mistakes, and this was just a period of time where lots of mistakes were being made, but now as a mother, I understand,” she reflected.

She added that those hardships forged resilience: “I think a lot of people think that I had it all handed to me because of who my parents were, but I did it by myself. In the middle of these abusive, horrible relationships, I wanted to be looked after, so I was going out with all these awful guys.”

Today, Atack celebrates a vastly different chapter. She is engaged to Dr. Alistair Garner, a materials scientist, and the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Barney James, in 2024.
