UMVA has learned that a wave of violence has swept through the city, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake, with multiple shootings and homicides reported in recent days.
In one incident, a 28-year-old man was found unresponsive in a west-end laneway, and despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital, marking the city's 15th homicide this year. The investigation revealed that the victim had been shot, but no suspects have been identified, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
In a separate incident, a woman was found shot inside a downtown apartment and later died of her injuries in hospital, with a suspect now in custody. The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, and police are working to piece together the events surrounding the shooting, but so far, few details have been released.
Meanwhile, in Brampton, a 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of ATM robberies, where victims were targeted and assaulted after withdrawing cash. The suspect allegedly waited inside ATM vestibules, preying on unsuspecting victims, including a senior citizen, before making his move.
In another disturbing incident, a man and woman were found dead inside a Barrie residence, with police conducting a wellness check and discovering the bodies. The victims are believed to have been known to each other, and the incident appears to be isolated, but the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear.
Additionally, Toronto Police have reported two separate overnight incidents of shots fired, with gunshots ringing out in the Jamestown Cres. and John Garland Blvd. area, and again in the downtown area near Baldwin and Beverley Sts. In both incidents, evidence of gunfire was found, and there were reports of injuries, but the investigations are ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the city is on high alert, with police working around the clock to investigate these incidents and bring those responsible to justice. As the investigations continue, residents are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
