SCHOOL NIGHTMARE: Staffers ARRESTED for Brutal Attacks on Kids!

SCHOOL NIGHTMARE: Staffers ARRESTED for Brutal Attacks on Kids!

A quiet Oklahoma elementary school has been shaken by allegations of disturbing conduct involving two of its employees. Separate incidents, weeks apart, have led to criminal charges and the swift dismissal of both individuals, raising serious questions about student safety.

Elizabeth Kay Sutton, a classroom aide, is accused of physically assaulting a 10-year-old boy on January 8th. According to reports, she allegedly grabbed the child, forced him back into his seat, and struck him in the face, an act witnessed by others and partially captured on security footage.

The video reportedly shows Sutton’s arm moving towards the child’s face, causing his head to snap back. A teacher later observed a visible red mark on the boy’s face upon his return to class, confirming the impact of the alleged assault.

Sutton claimed the boy had been disruptive since returning from the school break, attempting to leave his seat and climb onto a table. She stated she used a trained restraint technique, insisting her intention was not to cause harm. Despite her explanation, she was terminated from her position on January 15th.

Just weeks later, on March 13th, another employee, Ottoria Rose McClung, a personal care assistant, faced accusations of her own. She is alleged to have carried a 5-year-old student down a hallway in a chokehold, her arm wrapped tightly around the child’s throat.

Witnesses reported the young boy’s face turned red as he cried and struggled, hitting at McClung’s arm while she reportedly exclaimed, “I can’t deal with this.” The incident prompted an immediate response from school officials and law enforcement.

Like Sutton, McClung was promptly fired following the allegations. Both women have been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and have pleaded not guilty, currently awaiting a court appearance on May 20th, released on bond.

School Superintendent Nate Meraz emphasized that the district acted decisively, adhering to school policy and immediately notifying authorities. He affirmed that ongoing staff training prioritizes student safety and that any employee who harms a student will be removed from their position.

The incidents have understandably sparked concern within the community, prompting a renewed focus on ensuring a secure and nurturing learning environment for all students at Elgin Elementary. The school district maintains that the well-being of its students remains its highest priority.
